A girl who threw a message in a bottle into the sea when she was a seven-yr-previous lady has been reunited with it 18 years later. The film is about a man and a lady who consider in nice true love. The man believes it’s behind him; the girl hopes it’s forward of her. Certainly one of their ideals in life is “to be somebody’s true north.” Immediately we all know they’re in trouble. You do not just discover true love. You group up with somebody, and build it from the ground up. But “message in a bottle song sting in a Bottle” believes within the type of love the place the romantic music comes first, trembling and sweeping underneath each scene, and the dialogue is treated like the lyrics.
However where, oh where, did they get the film’s ending? Is it within the authentic novel, “Message in a Bottle,” by Nicholas Sparks ? Do not know. Have not read it. The climactic events are shameless, contrived, and wildly out of tune with the remainder of the story. To saddle Costner, Penn and Newman with such goofy melodrama is like hiring Fred Astaire and strapping a tractor on his back.
